Stake Aaronic Priesthood Camp provides a wonderful opportunity for our youth to gather together away from worldly influences, develop lasting gospel-centered relationships, build unity, and strengthen their faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
To ensure we have a successful and positive camp experience for everyone, and in an effort to help facilitate a meaningful experience that builds friendships and our faith, outlined below are the standards of behavior and expectations of each person (youth and adult) that will be attending camp. Acting contrary to any of the standards below may result in an individual being sent home from camp:
1. Abide by the invitations found in the For the Strength of Youth booklet. Including:
a. Language and Entertainment.
b. Honoring your body as a sacred gift from God in how you groom, modestly dress it, and treat it.
c. Word of Wisdom
i. Grounds for being sent home, include the possession of illegal substances or vaping.
d. Sexual purity
i. Grounds for being sent home include breaking the law of chastity, encouraging immoral behavior, or viewing pornography in any form.
2. Show respect for myself and others by being kind to all others.
a. Grounds for being sent home are bullying or causing harm to self or others (physical, spiritual, or emotional), these will not be tolerated.
b. Bringing weapons to camp are also grounds for being sent home.
3. Respect the property of others, including the camp’s facilities and property.
a. Theft or vandalism of any kind is grounds for being sent home.
4. Sleep in your assigned dorm/area and in your assigned bed alone.
5. Attend all activities and classes with your assigned group and at the assigned time.
6. Stay in the designated stake camp area at all times unless accompanied by adult leaders.
7. If it is necessary to leave camp early, youth must be checked out by a parent with a member of the Stake Young Women’s Presidency.
8. You must wear a life jacket all times when participating in water activities that require a life jacket. This includes but is not limited to lakes, rivers, boating, kayaking, and canoeing.
9. Abide by all rules of the host Camp.
10. Camp leaders are NOT responsible for any damage to electronic devices that are brought to camp.
a. Our desire is for all to be present and connected. Technology often interferes with this and therefore we discourage using electronic devices at camp. Electronic devices include cell phones, radios, computers, movie players, etc.
b. Cell phones are not permitted at camp for the young men, who are requested to leave all cell phones home to take a break from technology.
